With the increasing demand for short-term rehabilitation services and the coming of the baby boomer generation, many communities are working to accommodate the expectations of these new customers. The aesthetics and amenities in the resident room can play a large role in the marketability of a community. In addition to privacy, there is growing demand for amenities such as flat-panel TVs, wireless internet access and conversational seating areas for guests. The concept for this suite revolved round creating a hotel-like ambience designed to appeal to short-term stay patients seeking rehabilitation and therapy services. These customers are likely to spend more time in their rooms, so a smart, stylish and comfortable atmosphere will likely be a priority.

This resident room concept features many amenities that appeal to the short-term stay rehabilitation market. A sitting area provides a comfortable place for patients to interact with guests, while a desk allows patients a work surface to use a computer and surf the internet. Hardwood floor, decorative art and abundant lighting create an inviting retreat where patients can focus on wellness.

Accommodating features such as a European shower and built-in casework for personal items give residents the space they need, while brushed metal grab bars, artwork and flooring add an upscale feel.

As a result, there is abundant space for amenities such as a private bathroom, guest seating area, desk and flat-panel TV.

This room was designed to maximize resident privacy. To minimize clutter, additional shelving and drawers provide space for storage and residents' personal items.
